Isolated current sensing is fundamental in several contexts, including power electronics, automotive, and smart buildings. In order to meet the requirements of modern applications, sensors should feature ever larger bandwidth dynamic range, as well reduced consumption dimension. Among available technologies, Hall-based have gained an increased popularity owing their advantages terms size, economic feasibility, low consumption, high integrability with standard CMOS technologies. This tutorial aims at providing a comprehensive insight into interdisciplinary world Hall-effect sensors, encompassing principles operation, design semiconductor device, implementation techniques, methods for sensor modeling characterization. particular, this manuscript focuses on realized silicon it reviews some typical architectures transduction measurand magnetic field, electronic front-end. While mainly addressed students non-expert readers, specific aspects dispersion effects due temperature other external phenomena are also discussed.
